I have months where I run linux ubuntu for a while, then end up having to write some software in .net for work. It's painful to go back and forth like this .... I love ubuntu.

I made videos on how to install mt4 on ubuntu if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr6giMOMqiQ

Now considering running ubuntu full-time as most of my programming is java based now (eclipse IDE)

Yes, the thing with linux is that there are still so many Windows-only software. Using an emulator line Wine works sometimes but it's not like the real thing.

That's why I've been holding off to using Linux for so long. But as I've said, so far so good for me. There are always alternatives.

Ubuntu is good for you when you are only working in Java or any other related technologies which are supported in Linux. Although you can use Wine to run MT4, but the experience is not that good as compared to what you get when you run MT4 in Windows. Then only reason why I am sticking to Windows nowadays is just to run this funny MT4(and another one MT5).
